Ashley Borund
Ashley Fern Borud is an entrepreneurial spirit with a heart for creating, connecting, and making people feel seen. She began her website, A Wild Fern, as a space rooted in meaning, growth, and connection… and maybe a quiet place to catch your breath in the middle of everything life tends to throw your way.
At her core, Ashley is someone who finds joy in the little things—the thoughtful details, the in-between moments, the conversations that linger a little longer than expected. She’s drawn to creating spaces (and sharing pieces) that feel welcoming, encouraging, and real. The kind of things that don’t just sit on a shelf, but quietly become part of someone’s everyday life.
A Wild Fern was built from that place. A love of meaningful living, intentional design, and the belief that even the smallest reminders can carry a lot of weight. The pieces here aren’t just products… they’re gentle nudges, quiet encouragements, and sometimes just something that makes you pause for a second and feel a little more grounded.
But they’re also meant to be shared. Passed along. Given in moments when words are hard to find or when someone simply needs to know they’re thought of. A small way to offer kindness, spark connection, or remind someone they’re not alone—because sometimes the most meaningful gestures are the simplest ones.
Fun little tidbit about Ashley, she is related to Laura Ingalls Wilder (yes, that Laura), with her roots tracing through Lansford James Ingalls—the younger brother of Charles Ingalls—and his wife Sarah Hannah Ingalls. Which, if you’re doing the mental math, means her branch of the family tree grew right alongside the one that inspired the stories so many of us grew up with.
It’s something she holds with a lot of appreciation—and a little bit of awe. Not in a “live in the past” kind of way, but in a “carry forward what mattered” kind of way. The resilience, the faith, the simplicity, the figuring-it-out-as-you-go… all of it still feels pretty relevant.
A Wild Fern lives right in that space—between rooted and becoming. Between where you’ve been and where you’re going (even if you’re not totally sure where that is yet).
Here, you’ll find thoughtfully chosen pieces designed to offer encouragement, create a sense of calm, and bring a small moment of joy into your everyday life, and the lives of others. From faith-inspired designs to connection-focused finds, everything is selected with intention—and a whole lot of heart.
This space won’t be for everyone—but it’s made with care for those it’s meant to meet, and there’s always room for you here. Because sometimes, the simplest things are the ones that stay with us the longest.
